A Silk Road Feast at DOOD
This Christmas, DOOD invites Newcastle’s festive wanderers to gather around the table as ancient travellers once did along the Silk Road. In our Quayside home, the crackle of open flames and drift of saffron, sumac and smoke set the scene for a celebratory feast inspired by Persia and The Levant.
Our 2025 festive menu brings people together over hummus with taftoon, vibrant mazeh such as blistered padron peppers, olivieh salad,and pita-crusted calamari, before the true banquet begins. Guests share delicious dishes like Bademjan Shekam-Por, fragrant chicken dolma, saffron monkfish, and mangal-grilled kabab koobideh, all served family-style for connection and conversation.
And no journey ends without sweetness - our baklava with pistachio ice cream is a final indulgence worthy of any royal table. Menu available 28th November - 24th December.
